All of us are being formed by something or someone: our family and friends, the books we read, and maybe most importantly today, our social media feeds. What you give your attention to is who you become, for better or for worse. One of the ways we follow Jesus is by giving our attention to him and allowing him to form and shape—or reshape—us into people who embody him to the world around us.

Formatio is a weekly email with a short writing about what it means to follow Jesus today. It’s an invitation to redirect your attention away from the noise and hostility of social media, the daily to-do’s, and the distractions of life in the 21st century, and instead refocus on the person of Jesus. In doing so, we hope you are shaped, formed and fashioned more and more into the character and person of Jesus.
