Our lives are more connected to others than ever before, but it’s estimated most adults have one or fewer confidants in their lives today. Sociologist have called this the “loneliness epidemic.” We believe God has wired us for connection, and that we become more like Jesus by walking alongside one another in the sadness, the celebration, the trials and the joys. Mentors provide another person with a unique and safe place to be vulnerable, sharing their heart and life. In doing so, mentors then have the unique opportunity to listen and discern how God is at work in another person’s life.

Mentoring is commitment to intentionally walk alongside another person. Mentoring is not always a formal role or title, but at times it can be.
-
Most likely, it will look like going for coffee with your trusted mentor for 1-2 hours every couple of weeks where your mentor will listen, ask good questions, offer perspective, encourage and pray with you. You may decide to meet as a group of three, rather than two.
-
We ask for a two semester commitment, from October to April. It takes time to build trust and connection and we want you to experience the benefits of having someone journey with you. You may continue beyond this length if desired. The frequency, time and location of your meetings are flexible, but we suggest meeting twice a month for 1-2 hours as a starting point.
-
Beyond the regular mentoring connection you’ll get a chance to take part in one large group session per semester to help you discover your unique story, strengths and gifts.
-
Mentoring is for everyone, and anyone is able to apply! However, we designed our mentoring network specifically with young adults and young parents in mind.
-
There is a $50 fee per semester ($100 total). This covers the cost of some materials you’ll receive and the honorariums for our large group presenters. It also shows your commitment and ownership to this program.
*If finances are an obstacle to you signing up, please let us know and we will supplement the cost.
